Mawson Boat Club
Mawson Boat Club has been opperating from the Boat Shed on Sir Douglas Mawson Lake, in Mawson Lakes since 2014.
We offer Learn to Row programs for complete beginners and recreational or competitive memberships for more experienced rowers.
MBC MISSION
We are dedicated to maintaining a club that supports new and experienced rowers of all ages develop their cognitive learning and refine their performance skills in the sport through Come & Try, Learn to Row, recreational and competitive rowing experiences with a view to provide a personal sense of achievement, enjoyment, well-being and belonging in a friendly, safe community environment.
CLUB VISION
We believe in developing an attractive, sustainable rowing club, particularly within the Northern suburbs of Adelaide to provide positive health outcomes through recreational and competitive rowing activities, including opportunities to compete within State and National rowing competitions.
STRATEGY & GOALS FOR 2026/27

Re-introduce ergo clinics in schools and at the Boatshed to promote a JUNIOR PROGRAM.

Maintain opportunities for Senior and Masters rowers.

To seek mutual benefit partnerships with other sporting clubs and funding organisations that support our vision to provide greater participation.

To train and prepare crews for Rowing SA, including Rowing Australia pathways.

Upgrade MBC indoor and on the water rowing equipment.
CLUB PHILOSOPHY
Our rowers come from a broad spectrum. We value diversity and inclusion within our community and do our best to accommodate the wide and varied potential membership of the Mawson Boat Club. MBC offers new participants to the sport best practice programs to be able to achieve their own personal aspirations. We encourage “Being your Best,” values for all our members to participate in rowing and compete in a positive manner with Respect, Enthusiasm and Humility.
CLUB MANAGEMENT
Mawson Boat Club Incorporated is affiliated with Rowing SA. The club is run by a management committee including; President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Head Coach and Club Captain/Coach share responsibility for the design and management of the club’s Rowing Programs, Risk
Assessment Plan, Social-Media Policy, Code of Conduct, Child Safety Environment, monitoring and evaluation of club policies and organizational performance. Committee members contribute to the running of the club through and in the decision-making process and activities of the club.
